Capital maintenance projects funded through Measure B:
Union Pacific has cleaned up encampments, weeds, and junk to discourage trespassing and deterrence to improve safety and on-time performance. UPRR also installed xing surface in different locations along the ACE corridor.
Capital Access Fees
Measure B funds have been used to pay UPRR for a trackage agreement entered on August 11, 1997 to secure the trackage rights from Stockton to San Jose for the initial commitment period of the ACE Service. The trackage rights agreement with the Railroad
Granted the Commission trackage rights for a period of five years beginning on the service commencement date. $151, 430 of Measure B Funds were used to pay a portion of the Capital Access Fee for FY 22/23.
Operational Costs
For FY 22/23 Measure BB revenues exceeded $3.7 million, of which $600k was used for operations.Ā $1 million of Measure B fund balance was used to pay for operations, for a total operational cost of $1.6 million. The remaining balance rolled into fund balance to be used for future fiscal years operations and capital projects.
