About ACE
Advisory CouncilPassenger Advisory
Council (ACEPac)
Stacey Mortensen, Executive Director of ACE had the vision of creating
an ACE Passenger Advisory Council (ACEPac) to provide passenger
feedback and input on ACE programs and services. Due to different
needs of the passengers in the different geographic segments of the
corridor, two ACEPac’s were envisioned: one from the San Joaquin
region and one from the Tri-Valley region. The San Joaquin ACEPac was
formed first to test out the interest and develop the framework for
sustaining the passenger involvement.
During the Fall of 2005, ACE solicited volunteers to serve on the
ACEPac, using the ACE website and the weekly electronic bulletin. In
late November, these volunteers were contacted to coordinate their
schedules and the first ACEPac meeting was held on January 21st.
Currently, there are a total of five PAC members from Stockton,
Manteca/Lathrop, Tracy and Vasco who have been riding ACE between 1-8
years. They bring their own unique ACE experience to the equation, but
have committed to work toward improving the ACE system as a whole for
all of the passengers. While there is no intent to limit participation
on the ACEPac, there is a certain smaller group size that lends itself
to more effective interaction with the ACE managers.
The ACEPac works directly with ACE Department managers each month on
areas such as communication strategies for train delays, contingency
plans, fare program restructuring, along with upcoming service
innovations such as the electronic ticketing system and wi-fi
improvements.
Based upon the success of the San Joaquin ACEPac, a call will go out
for Tri-Valley ACEPac volunteers in the future. Applications will be
available on the website.
Should you have any comments you would like the ACEPac to discuss with
the ACE managers, feel free to email the
Chairman of the ACEPac. If you
have any specific questions regarding the formation of the ACEPac,
please contact
Hubert Hanrahan.
