Rules and Regulations
TICKETING PROCEDURES
- Tickets are available at most ACE Stations prior to departure for morning
westbound trains either from ACE Ticket Offices, or approved ACE Vendors.
Tickets are also available online at www.acerail.com 24 hours a day.
- In the event that no ticket sales are available at your departure station,
please contact a member of the train crew immediately upon boarding for
assistance. While onboard trains or buses, passengers must have their ticket
available and displayed at all times. Upon request, please present your ticket
to the Train Employee or Bus Driver for inspection.
- One way, roundtrip and 20-trip tickets must be validated prior to boarding the
train or bus.
- Children under the age of 12 may not travel alone and must be accompanied by an
adult.
- Any passenger using a discounted ticket for the disabled or seniors, must
provide appropriate identification if requested.
- Monthly passes must be signed and not laminated or otherwise altered in any way.
- Not all ACE stations have afternoon ticket sales. Please refer to our website or
call 1-800-411-RAIL for current information.
- Trains run Monday–Friday. No service on major holidays (See holiday schedule on
our website, effective August 28, 2006).

PASSENGER PROTOCOL
- Deboarding passengers are allowed the right-of-way. Please allow
passengers to disembark before boarding the train cars.
- Passengers must prominently display a validated ticket at all
times while riding the train. A limited supply of free plastic
ticket holders and clips are available for this purpose. Please
request a holder from a train attendant or from the ACE
Headquarters.
- Drinking alcohol or carrying an open container of an alcoholic
beverage is prohibited on trains and in stations.
- Smoking is prohibited on trains and on the station platforms.
- No weapons are allowed on the train at any time.
- Keep the trains clean for your fellow passengers.
- Use headphones when listening to sound equipment.
- Passengers may bring one bicycle per person aboard the train,
space permitting. For bike locker availability, please contact ACE
customer service, 800-411-RAIL.
- Passengers with bicycles should enter the train car through
doors marked with a bicycle emblem. Store your bicycle in one of the
spaces provided at the end of each train car. Secure your bicycle's
front and back wheels with the Velcro straps. ACE is not responsible
for stolen, lost or damaged bicycles.
- Passengers may not block seats or aisles with belongings. ACE is
not responsible for stolen, lost, or damaged items. Train personnel
are not required to provide baggage assistance.
- Shirts and shoes must be worn at all times.
- Please don't place your feet on the seats.
- Personal belongings must be placed at your feet or on your lap.
Vacant seats should be utilized for passengers.
- With the exception of guide dogs, animals are prohibited on the
trains.
- With the exception of oxygen for personal medical use, the
transportation of materials in quantities listed as hazardous by the
U.S. Department of Transportation is forbidden.
- Soliciting is prohibited on the ACE trains or ACE property.
- Posting of any materials on the ACE trains or ACE property is
prohibited without the express permission from the ACE Contracts and
Procurement Manager.
- Dim-lit cars are designated QUIET CARS for the convenience of
passengers who wish to sleep during their commute in the morning. We
ask that passengers keep their noise level down to a reasonable
level so as not to disturb their fellow passengers.

FOOD & DRINKS
- Water fountains are available on all ACE cars.
- Passengers are encouraged to maintain the cleanliness of the ACE
trains by providing proper, leak-proof containers for all food and
beverage items. No food is sold on the ACE trains.
- Passengers boarding with hot or cold drinks are required to
provide a lidded container at all times to avoid spills.

SAFETY & CONVENIENCE
- Cross the tracks only at designated areas.
- Look both ways before crossing the tracks.
- Children under the age of 12 years are not permitted to travel
alone on the train.
- While waiting at the station remember that some trains may not
stop and may be traveling at high speeds, therefore, ALWAYS stand
behind the yellow line at the platform.
- Hold all children by hand.
- Do not ride bicycles on the platforms.
- Use caution when moving between train cars.
- Do not lean on or hold the train doors open.
- ACE trains, stations, and platforms are accessible to
individuals with disabilities.
- Special access platforms are available at each station. Each
rail car features an accessible rest room for wheelchair use.
- In case of emergency, contact the Train Attendant.

NOTICE TO PASSENGERS
- Allow at least 10 minutes to connect between ACE trains and
other transit suppliers.
- Schedule and routes are subject to change without prior notice.
- ACE reserves the right to cancel or substitute regularly
scheduled service without advance notice or ticket refunds.
- Passengers will not be compensated in the event that trains do
not meet published schedule. Schedule times are not guaranteed and
are subject to change at any time without prior notice.
- ACE tickets are not refundable or replaceable.
- ACE is not responsible for rules, regulations or fares beyond
the established service route.
- Passengers who do not validate tickets or present forged tickets
will be cited, fined, and/or prosecuted.
