A Glimpse Into ACE’s
New Ticketing Program: COMeT

An exciting new ticketing system is in the pipeline and you can play a role in the development and implementation process. The COMeT system, COMmuter Electronic Ticketing (i.e. COMeT) is being created with user defined flexibility.

Our goal is to provide you a general understanding of what to expect from the COMeT system and encourage your feedback about features you would like to know more about, your suggestions for improving the concept now and an opportunity to ask the questions you may want answered up front.

Proposed Features and Benefits:

No platform validation required
No platform validation necessary, just board the train and an ACE staff member will scan your COMeT card to deduct your trip from your personal account or verify your Annual Passport COMeT card.

Paperless & Personalized
No more paper tickets. You will be issued a personal card similar to a credit card. You customize the card to best suit your needs. One way and round trip tickets will be issued a single use card at the stations and limited ticket sales will be available onboard the train for first time riders.

Renewable & Flexible
At your convenience you can recharge your card online, at station vendor locations or provide our ticketing department secure credit card information to automatically recharge your card at specified levels. You can even receive e-mail alerts to remind you it’s time to recharge. It’s your choice; the flexibility is built into the system. For greater savings purchase 20 trip, 40 trip or Monthly Fare amounts to receive additional fare discounts.

ACE Annual Passport
NEW! the ACE Annual Passport. A value added COMeT card which is debited automatically on a monthly basis. Receive various incentive offers such as free or discounted tickets for various sporting and entertainment events, as well as ACE special train events.

Expanded Rewards Program
Think frequent flyer type rewards system. All passengers will benefit using the COMeT REWARDS system. The more you ride, the more you earn. Free Trips added, Free Special Train Tickets, Free Cool stuff from ACE partners and all current ACE Loyalty Rewards monthly pass holders will be converted to the new program with no loss in value.

30 Day Conversion Period
You will have plenty of time to either utilize your existing ticket or have the remaining trip value transferred to your new personalized COMeT card. Staff will be available onboard and at stations to assist you.

Simple Transfers
If you utilize connecting transit which requires proof of fare such as VTA’s light rail, you will be issued a transfer onboard for a seamless connection. Most transit agencies will simply accept your new ACE COMeT card like they do now.

Payment Types
Use your credit card, cash, and Commuter Checks to fund your account.

Designed for Change
Consider the first implementation of the COMeT system as the foundation for a system that can be modified, and improved over time, implementing technologies and services as they become viable.
